A useful pincushion

I make this easy pincushion a lot for craft clubs and gifts.

Made from a sardine can.

Take off the lid and wash well with soapy water. Dry outside.

Collect some old velvet or other sturdy fabric, some stuffing and some sort of ornamentation.

Stuffing is best if you include some wool yarn or roving. I like batting too.

The decorations could be something really wild that you might not use anywhere else.

The tin pincushion feels stable on your workspace and is often exclaimed over when at quilting bees etc.

Here is one I just made.
