Seasons of a mountain

Experiment where I went from warm to cool colors in one quilt piece.
I chose the seasons in a mountain, maybe where I grew up.
The embroidery is appliqued first with silks, then fibers and scraps of fabric laid down.
There are lots of running stitches, silk and thread embroidery.
It is a bit of a hodge podge.
Oh well had to try it once!

Real shell

Love this shell pincushion that washed up on the Island shores. It is made from Silk dupioni in shell pink of course. Has real fresh water pearls and some stitchery. I have put it for sale on my Etsy site. It is quite a little jewel of the sea.

It is all Greek in Hawaii

Sunday fun in the sun
My day at the local Greek festival.
Opa! Yassou!

My cover

Thought I could post the cover that the article refers to.

This is on the newstands now.

I have a little article on how to create the Bustier, it is lots of fun, much painting and overdying to get the colors I wanted.

Just found a nice page here, about 'moi'

http://www.stampington.com/html/cover_artist_alt_autumn.html

I had no idea this was here. Take a look if you would like to know about me.
Perhaps this would answer some questions I get.
Ignore the photo, crummy photographer!

Have a great weekend

I may use some of my own sketches in my other artwork.

These are some of my 'memories of Paris'.

Until I refresh them that is.

Pansy gift from NZ

I am posting this picture I really love. Got it in NZ.
May be some other flowers. Pansy is the name I give them because they are my favourites.

Free to use any way you like.

If you do would you let me know after you post it on your own site?

I think there is a lot of potential with the image.

Maybe applique, stitchery, box top, paper crafts or even on wood.

She sells, sea shells

collection of seashell sewing items.

They are a pincushion, scissors fob, sewing box and needle case.

All made of silk with ribbon embroidery.

a doll and a vanity tray

The doll is one of a series I make, she is about 12" tall , has a bustle and a layered skirt, pretty old fabrics were used.
I enjoy making hats and try to make one on all my dolls.
The old vase is from NZ

The tray is made from a picture frame from Walmart.
My daughter gave me the idea.
Just slip some wall paper under the glass and off you go!

The old bakelite mirror is from NZ also.

Part of a coverlet

Too big to show all at once, here are some parts of it.
I had a lot of silk prints that were very faded.
They looked romantic so I collaged them with lace and more silk and stitched a frame around each one.
A little sampling to enjoy.

Hawaiian eye on art

Few of my Hawaiian art pieces.
The mermaid doll, is stuffed, beaded, painted and sitting on a tag.
The flat mermaid is also on fabric.
My favourite hawaiian tree is the banyon shown in the hand carved stamp image.
These cards are all made from rubber stamps from a local shop, ' Rubber Stamp Plantation.'
I am busy working on more embroidery, pictures coming soon.

Jewelry Holder from a book

I thought I would make this holder, sort of challenge to self.
It is featured in the new book, A Charming Exchange.
I was part of this exchange tho' not in the book.
Lots of friends are and congrats. to them.
The folder is based on felt and is to hold bracelets.
The clear pocket at the top is for earrings and brooches.
I like a bit more color so next time would make it earthy or something else.

My charm bracelets from this exchange were on my blog earlier.

One page booklet

Had to try this one. This is a sample so rather rough. I used the Village theme.
Tricky to fold but otherwise makes a nice little book for round robbins and the like.
Make it from one sheet of printer paper.
Fold in half and then quarters. Cut the middle across the 2 center quarters.

Folding:
Fold in half along long axis and push ends in. It will look like a diamond shape in the middle. Push completely closed to look like a cross. Wrap one resulting flap to the back and lay the other pages on top. This gives you 8 pages to decorate.
Hope this is fairly clear, just play with it, aloha
