Popping in to say Kia Ora

Living in the Islands will do that to me.

As I wing my way south, leave you with a little idea.

A pretty idea I came up with to display jewelry for sale.
Actually had a friend in mind who is an earring artist and looks for new ways to show them.
Print both the sheets 4 to a page.
Next cut them out and glue back to back with cardstock in between.
Fold top down on line. Punch 2 holes and tie string or ribbon through.
To hang earrings, poke holes in card. A brooch can be threaded through the card and closed on the back.
A necklace may go through the top holes.
Decorate further as you like.
See you first week of June.

Another 'going green' show from the Islands.
One belongs to me, maybe you can guess?

At last my entry for this challenge.

I decided to use the theme of a program to a French review.
The background is the cover of an old ledger I have.
The inside is french text and the image sits upon music and pink paper. I stamped the pink ribbon and was lucky to find the Paris pin at a thrift shop.
A link to all the lovelies is below.

The end result, tres French!

To complete the box I pushed the bottom with divider attached , into the box , it was nice and snug, no glue added.
To give a bit of French flair I found some braid
wrapped it around the outside and tied in a knot.
Final touch a label with I dream in French in English and French. (labels from French General)
Let me know if you make a covered box.

Can you stand another old box makeover?

I finished the spagetti and thought the box was too sturdy to throw away.

I use boxes for storage and alter them somehow to make more attractive. A bit green me!

I used what I had and this project took 30 mins.

Remember measure twice and cut once, wonder how I know!
Leave plenty of fabric on all sides.

Quilted postcards galore

I taught the Quilt Guild how to create fabric postcards that can go through the mail.
They have made this bevy of beauties for the show, they were a huge hit I have to say.
Love the display tied to bamboo.
Great job ladies. I am impressed.

Marie Antoinettes fan

Boo hoo! this was a reject from Stampington company.

You get to see it anyway.

Made the fan and then decoupaged it, antiqued and crackled it and added gold leaf. Glitter and paint too.

Vintage button and tassel at the bottom.

The fan really works, we need it in Hawaii. It is very hot and humid now.

Quilt show in Honolulu.

Proud of my friends in this wonderful show.

It was truly outstanding and reflected the Islands so well.

I will post pictures from time to time for you to enjoy.

Mystery solved. Part 1

Maybe you guessed it was a book.
Hope you like it.
To open correctly you do have to glue each 1/2" fold to the back of the previous page.
Add as many pages as you like.
Decorate any way you enjoy.
This sample is made from wallpaper, use similar for quick references to techniques.
