Exciting songbird news

One of my favorite native birds in NZ that was threatened with extinction.
Now is making a great comeback in the city of Hamilton, my birthplace.
See the Mighty River that runs through it on left. The Waikato.
I am so delighted, I grew up listening to the songs of this tui, look at the colors and the white throat.
Ki te aroha toku manu.

I love our Tui's Lilla.

In the courtyard, off our dining/living room, we have a bird bath.
On Monday a Tui visited and had a good wash and play, we were all watching her/him and suddenly I thought I need a photo for my blog. By the time I got back with my camera, Tui's ablutions were over....

Yesterday a young thrush did the same, but again I missed it. Now my camera is at the ready on the table!!

Take care Lilla
