Cottages?

Someone wanted me to put a cottage on fabric for them.
Lost the comment.
If you get back in touch I will do that.

Bijoux Boards

I made a bunch of these to take to Long Beach for one of my classes.
Displayed my handmade brooches on them.
They are padded and one can slip notes or cards etc. under the ribbons.
Hang on a wall.

Back in the Islands

Had to go a bit touristy in LA.
Never been to Hollywood before so took a day to see it all.

Here are some pics I took there.
Marilyn and Hollywood sign on a clear day!
Michael and the only New Zealander I could find on the Stars' walk.

cottage for you to use

This is how I start my cottage embroideries.
Draw first, then paint, sometimes on paper and often right on muslin.
You may use this for own stitchery, do not sell please.
I will be away next week for a while, so may not be adding to my blog often.
So grab this if you want as a big thanks from me.
I do appreciate the feedback I get.

Mail time project

Save funds and make your own cards.
I cut a piece of card-stock, Bristol my fave, in half, and then fold each to make 2 cards.
Scallop edge of front piece and run line of glue and glitter along.
Now sew or glue on a little fabric and paper collage, quickly made from stuff on your table top or with me in the rubbish.
The icing on my cake anyway, is always a piece of plastic sewn to the top of the collage.
It just puts the card in another dimension and looks better.
Love to enclose cards and their envelopes in gift packages, blank please.
Then it can be used by the recipient.

Art challenge

I made a last ditch effort to enter into the art challenge on Green Paper.
Put together an altered envelope with the 3 images, paint, gold touches, lace and some of my nonsense writing. I liked the painterly look myself and these wonderful images already told me a story.

Ye olde cottage

Another embroidery with painted cottage.
For those interested I could print some of my cottages onto fabric for you to stitch and embellish.
Just let me know.

Beachy finds

Couple of my crochet items. Barefoot sandals are faves of mine for letting the sand spread through your toes.
The necklace has shell gathered in NZ, and was inspired by some Kelp here in the Islands.

baguette bag

a bag with pocket on back.
Great to hold a bread knife there, or umbrella maybe.
Elegant grocery tote, or take to the Boulangerie for some picnic fare.
Both these French bags for sale in my shop.
This one is very roomy and also has a drawstring closure.

French Bardot bag

I had fun making this bag with lots of lace and fabrics from Provence.
It reverses to the floral print.
Quite large, hangs low on the hip.
Heart detaches.

It is pink Saturday

I am working on some embroideries, of course must do a cottage or two.
Here is part of one I painted first and now am adding stuff, embroidery lace, fabric bits and anything else I can find in my work box.

Bundle of old fabrics here too. I collect wherever I am, in NZ, from friends, here in Hawaii and hopefully at Quilt festival in Long Beach.

The heart I am giving away has linen from an old skirt of mine. Ticking layered under organdy, some of my embroidered ribbon and stained muslin.
Hope that helps those who ask. Aloha

Heart give away

This month I will give away a stuffed heart Provencal style.
7" long with layered and stitched, old fabrics. Coffee dyed.
Small pocket on back and hangs from string.
No lavender inside so it could be sent to another country OK
Leave a comment and I will draw the winner out of my battered cap again.
Next Monday which is 5th July is deadline.
