handy project

I made up a project to hold gift cards, money and such.
Filled my need.
All you do is print off my envelope template and cut it out, save it.
Next print a photo or picture of choice into the center of a full sheet of computer paper.
Add text if liked.
Print that out.
Now center the template on the print, hold up to the light helps.
Clip with clothes pin and cut out shape and fold on the lines.
Add whatever you like to the back flap, I am showing a stamped image on mine.
Easy and fun, let me know how it works for you.
I used Picasa to print and center my picture and add text.

Altered antique baby dress

Antique dress with collage of old lace pieces, frays and an image of children, one hold a bear so I added a teddy bear charm.
Made a little necklace with old French text, it adds drama and a bit more to move the eye around I think.
Well anyway!
I dyed it the pale color, used herbal tea for that.

I'm a bit rusty today

Want to see what I do in my leisure time on my lanai?
I go rusty.
I love Steam Punk and rusted things, the patina charms me and I love to mess about and create something different.
Goes back to my days growing up on a sheep station with a big 'wool-shed' barn to play in.
I mix up some stuff in a jar, and throw in old camera parts, and all kinds of gold and silver looking bits in a big tin I keep of such items.
Then I wonder, what to do with them.?
I could just look at them but that is not much fun.
Here then a couple of quick collages and pendants.

Lace signature cushion

Mentioning that to make the Ori-gire wallets, too hard to explain. Appreciate the interest.
I may do a video creating the easiest one. That is the tissue wallet.

Meanwhile, using more of my lace stash.

Love these wallets, ori -gire, french twist.

I will be adding these to my shop. Fun to create, this one has two interior pockets for coupons or money and checkbook. Brag photos or other collections.

Card wallet

This wallet is same as in the previous post, the one that says Paris with flowers atop.
Just mentioning that Ori-Gire is fabric folding.
Back and forth like a concertina and not much sewing.

French wallets

made a bunch of French wallets.
They all have multiple uses and several pockets inside.
One is for attaching keys and for jogging.
Another has a safety zip pocket and other pockets inside, good for traveling.
Another hold cards and tissues, another holds money coupons or checks.
All are made with French Provencal fabrics and lined.
I used the Japanese Ori-gire technique to create them, it is fun and easy.
International I say!

box and lace bundle inside

I love boxes almost as much as I love books and embroidery.
I have lots of hatboxes filled with just stuff.

Here is a box to hold projects.
I put a bundle of lace inside because I hate it when one takes the lid off a box and nothing is there.
I always put things in them so the viewer is not disappointed.

Must be my childhood memories coming to the surface.
Looking in my Nanna's old boxes and finding all kinds of memories, photos, hankies and brooches.

French book with sleeve

I used the sewing machine to stitch together ephemera, tickets and bits I gathered in France.
Made the small book with lots of 'foldouts' and a decorated 'sleeve' to hold it.
