Around the studio

Little vignette with one of my dolls sitting in a rustic box, she watches me work.
I have made another couple fabric art books, here is a sneak peak at one with my own drawings of Provence.

Box with Trouve'

Had the old velvet French image so created a box to hold collections and Trouve'
I included a paper rose with jewel on petal, burlap and tulle behind it.
Box lined with music and covered with old lace.
I padded the lid and used some really old gimp and chenille.

Country French Tool bag.

Made this great tool bag from old linen.
Chic Campagnard style, yes?
Handles are aged ticking.
I threaded some string and old buckle through a buttonhole for added pizzazz.
Added a shabby rose brooch.

French dessert

Before I eat it all.
My version of this delight I found in some parts of France.
Simply Blancmange made with low-fat milk.
Fresh raspberries with sprinkle of brown sugar.
In a bowl with a dash of Fleur de sel I picked up in Revel, France.
I needed the bit of salt, prevents me getting muscle cramps when I swim.
Oh Yum!

Cushion from Mirepoix

Made this boudoir pillow with textiles I found at the great flea market in Mirepoix.
That's in the Midi-Pyrenees. The best.
The silk print was there, had to have help locating it but after a big search grabbed some.
A couple of friends made off with a bunch too.
So this is the first project and more are coming down the line.
Sold, sorry.

How about a French brooch?

Special give away.

Made with old stuff from France, gathered in Toulouse.
A brooch with organza, old lace and ribbons and a vintage pearl.
Sitting on some French text.
I will have a name pulled out of my battered old cap on Sunday 21st Aug.

Might I add that I do like to hear from the winners, if you liked my gift, it gets a bit lonely out here in the pacific.!

Being a bit tinny

More of my rusted tins here.
I sat my birdy onto the rusty key hole plate and it looked so 'at home' I glued it there.
Tins are for re-cycling in my art life.
How about you?
Tomorrow I will put up a give away, keep watching.

French pots

Playing outside on my painters bench.
I saw the old terracotta pots just waiting for a little fix up.
You know I am the gardener here where I reside.
Love to make things look interesting and useful as well.
