And we can fly to the green forest, collage project

I made a collage for you to create if you would like.
Very easy and few supplies.
Begin with a page torn from an old book and some brown paper to back it.
Other things to find, a doily, folded, and some vintage flowers attached.
Frayed lace and threads.
A knotted piece of twine
Flower pictures from an old calendar, torn into about 6 small bits.
Glue and sewing machine if you want to stitch like I did.
Printed sentiment for label.

Twist the wire hanger around a pencil and use masking tape to secure to backing.
Sew or glue on the other items in a pleasing collage, make it your own.
Show me if you made one.

If you are wondering

I really do teach classes.
This was snapped by a student last night.
I showed them how to created French journals.
It is another version of Colette's sketch book, shown on left.

Bottle in box

Made the wee French bottle.
Embellished with wired beads and a fancy cork.
The box is made up of water- colors I found in Paris.
So bottle fits inside nicely.

A wrapped journal

All pages are decorated with lace, paper, fabric, beads, stitchery etc.
Cover is embellished with frayed applique and has some hand stitchery.
Pocket in couple of places with tags inside.
I made this in a somewhat French theme with stitchery ideas.
The cover is self wrapped. The tie button is
P Cardin and says Paris.
22 pages all complete!

A project

Let me know if you make this.
A French Lavender Cone.
In Provence I see them made from old newsprint, I gave them a twist of my own.
So take some burlap, line with pieced paper and roll up.
Use very little glue, just a dab will do it.
The look is supposed to be loose and spontaneous.
I added double twine to hang it by and tied a knot of some of the burlap frays.
Of course it needed a lace bit tied to one side.

Been Bird watching

in a Lagoon at low tide here in the Islands.
The Audubon Society has several trips and this was the last of shore-bird migration.
We did a lot of wading in shallows and searching for unusual sea critters and algae.
Saw many birds so it was a very pleasant day.
