What are they?

I took a Japanese paper and netting sculpture workshop recently
Here are some of the results.
Our lovely teacher was from Japan and came with her interpreter.

Oh they are so gorgeous - they look like big versions of prayer flags

I have a Japanese daughter in law and she tells me all about the customs - it's magical

I love the purple and yellow one which looks like it has a type of smocking stitching style used. I love it when people manipulate fabric in wonderful ways. I do have the book 'The Manipulation of Fabric' and it is wonderful.
